Camp ArroyoA children’s camp designed to teach kids about the environment. Scope of WorkIn conjunction with Siegel & Strain Architects (Carl Scheidenhelm, project architect). A variety of green building methods are integrated throughout the various camp buildings each exemplifying a different green building strategy. Water conservation, passive and active solar, resource efficient construction, and recycled/renewable materials are used throughout the camp. Bath houses – Bathhouses are designed for natural ventilation and constructed of stabilized shot formed earth. Bunk houses – 6 communal bunk houses employ passive solar design, solar assisted radiant heat and renewable materials.
